A Unique Educational Approach
Manageable and Achievable Learning
ACE provides learning materials in bite-sized, achievable workbooks called PACEs. These workbooks include colourful self-instructional lessons and activities. Every level (grade) consists of 12 PACEs in each subject. A child can only progress once he or she has mastered the material in a PACE. This mastery based learning makes it possible for any child – a high achiever or a challenged learner – to master subject matter at his or her own pace. Mastery is the foundation upon which all future learning is built.
We know this to be one of the strengths of the ACE programme, and it is why we recommend ACE for our home school families. Parents can feel assured that their child has mastered the material and will be ready to progress to the next level.
Individualized & Child Focused
From the beginning of each PACE, the child understands what is expected and assume responsibility for his or her own learning. Explanations in full colour illustrations add excitement to each lesson, and innovative learning activities reinforce the text material. Children are encouraged to think creatively and independently, and activities are designed to develop critical thinking skills.
Although we mainly supply ACE materials, if a family wishes to use an alternative curriculum we will still support them. We often supply our families with alternative curriculum materials to supplement particular areas of study for students who have specialized interests. We encourage parents to nurture creativity, self-study and exploration in their children.
Fun Projects
In order to complement and enhance what children learn in their normal curriculum, EHSA facilitates project based learning activities. These fun projects are either single-day workshop-based, or longer collaborative assignments where students learn to undertake open-ended tasks alongside one another. EHSA provides full guidance for our eager learners as we wish to inspire a passion for learning and asking questions into the hearts and minds of our students.
Our project based activities empower students to discover ways to utilize their expanding academic skills to solve real world problems in a practical way. At EHSA we strive to engage the full scope of our students’ minds so that they can better understand the experiences and discoveries of others – people further away in time (history) and in place (geography).
Character Building
The ACE program instills moral values and Biblical principles in the life of each child. Character traits such as honesty, kindness and loyalty are taught throughout the curriculum using illustrations and stories. The curriculum conveys Biblical values and concepts considered foundational to meaningful interpersonal relationships and productive learning in such a way as to become life-shaping influences.
